What edition of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance should I buy?

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the definitive version of Shin Megami Tensei V! The original game was only on the Nintendo Switch, but Atlus has made it so everyone can enjoy this amazing RPG! With better visuals, more content, and more refined gameplay, this is shaping up to be one of the best games in the series yet. Atlus has been treating fans very well the last couple of years and this looks like it is going to be another fantastic release.

As is the case with most games these days there are different editions of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and we are looking at all that have been announced so far to help you find the one that is right for you. Atlus is known for their fancy collector’s edition, but as of us writing this, no Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Collector’s Edition has been announced for the game.

When Is It Out & What Is It On?

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is scheduled for release on June 21st, 2024. The game will be available for everything! PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC gamers can all get in on this.

Is There A Pre-Order Bonus?

Yup, Atlus is taking care of those who pre-order the game by giving them the “Two Sacred Sets DLC Set”. With this, you get Gleam Grenade which will do a small amount of damage to enemies. You also get Haraedo Bead which can be used to recover HP for all your allies.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Launch Edition

This is the base version of the game, but the Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance comes with an exclusive steelbook. From what we have seen, this is a retailer exclusive, in the UK for example GAME is offering it. The RRP for this is $59,99/£54,99. Although, in the UK the Nintendo Switch version on GAME is listed at £59,99.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Standard Edition

This is the base game, but if you get the Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Standard Edition physically on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch it comes in a standard plastic box. This is available physically and digitally and is priced at $59,99/£54,99. If you just want to experience the game, this is the way to go.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Digital Deluxe Edition

The other version that is available is the Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Digital Deluxe Edition. We are quite impressed with the price of this as it is only slightly more than the standard edition at $69,99/£59,99. For those in the UK, if you want this game digital, the extra £5 is a no-brainer really as you get some awesome in game content with this.

Mitama Dance of Wealth

Mitama Dance of EXP

Mitama Dance of Miracles

Sakura Cinders of the East

Holy Will and Profane Dissent

All of that stuff is going to come in really handy and give you a real head start when you begin your journey.

What Edition Of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Should I Buy?

We feel that if you are getting Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance digitally, you want to go for the Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Digital Deluxe Edition. For that little bit extra, you get a bunch of handy stuff that is going to help you out quite a lot. If you are a physical game collector, it all comes down to your opinions on steelbooks. If you love a steelbook case, go for the Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Launch Edition as that is the only way to get it. If you do not care about a steelbook, we would recommend holding off a couple of weeks to see if anywhere is offering it a bit cheaper than the RRP.
