You can tell your party members to either focus on fighting shadows or exploring so that they can find more stairs and useful items. You do this through the menu and it can make things much easier for you in the long run, especially in regards to them thinning out enemies for you.

Avoid Getting Tired

One “feature” that Persona 3 Portable has which is rather annoying if we are being honest is the stamina system. In this game, characters can get tired and if they get too tired, they have to rest for a couple of days and will not be able to enter Tartarus! Even the main character can be negatively affected by being too tired. However, there is a saving grace in the form of Yawn-B-Gone. You can get this from the school store and you can buy three per week, this is an essential purchase each time you can.

Take Control Of Your Party

The AI of your party members in battle in Persona 3 Portable is a bit of a mixed bag. Sometimes it is like they are going out of their way to make bad decisions during battles. However, you can actually take direct control of them where you tell them what to do in battle. By default, AI party members are set to act freely which lets them do what they want. You need to change it in the tactics menu when you are in a battle to direct commands and this will put you in control of what they do.

Save As Frequently As Possible

One of the best new and modern gaming features that has been put into this new version of Persona 3 Portable is giving players the ability to save at any time. The original game for as great as it was had a rather frustrating save system that could wipe out hours of work in the wrong circumstances. With this version, you are free to save whenever you want. Get into the habit of saving frequently so that you can quickly go back a few steps if you need to.
