You could make the argument that Hogwarts Legacy is the biggest Harry Potter game ever released. We are not just talking about the controversy that has been surrounding the game but in terms of the actual scale of the game. This goes beyond what we have had from the games based on the movies or the awesome LEGO Harry Potter games. This is a massive game and to help you get on the right track with your Hogwarts adventure, we have 5 beginner tips and tricks!
Picking The Right House
One of the most fun things about Hogwarts Legacy is that it allows players to recreate the moment when they have to wear the Sorting Hat and get put into a house. All four houses are represented here, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. You will be assigned a house and if you want to go for a more “authentic” Hogwarts experience, you could just stick with a randomly selected one. However, if you have your heart set on being in a particular house, you can change it. But this is a one time deal, after this scene, the house you have selected is the house you are stuck with so make sure you pick the one you really want!
Abuse Revelio!
You will unlock many awesome spells in Hogwarts Legacy, but one of the early spells that you will learn is called Revelio and it is probably the spell that you are going to use more than any other. This spell will highlight anything of importance that is close to you such as chests, important items, and so on. You activate it with a simple press of the left on your d-pad so get in the habit of using this all the time as it makes finding items so much easier.
Becoming Stronger!
There are many RPG elements at play in Hogwarts Legacy such as getting more hit points as your character levels up through the XP system. However, becoming stronger, doing more damage, and being able to defend better are stats that are improved via the clothes you are wearing. Some clothing may benefit your offense and some may benefit your defense. You can unlock and buy clothing as you progress through the game and it is always a good idea to chop and change depending on what you have to do.
Unlock As Many Floo Locations As You Can As Quickly As Possible
Traveling around the huge open world that is Hogwarts Legacy is a truly awesome experience. However, this is a very large game and you will be doing a great deal of backtracking too, and from different areas. Thankfully, Hogwarts Legacy has a really fun fast travel system and it is just like in the movies and the books! You can travel around through the Floo Network (which is unlocked fairly early in the game) it is well worth stopping at every single Floo location as you make your way to your next objective as you can then use them to quickly travel around the map.
Paying Attention In Potions Class
Another fun aspect of Hogwarts Legacy is the crafting system. You can craft different potions in the game and not only does this make you feel like a student at Hogwarts, potions and having a decent amount of them on you is essential for getting through the game as battles can be very tough! The one potion that you always want to have a decent stock of is called, Wiggenweld as this is a potion that will heal you during battle. Wiggenweld is also a good indicator if a boss or something hard is coming up as you usually come across a chest with one or two in it just before!
Those are our 5 beginner tips and tricks for Hogwarts Legacy that we feel will help you get on the right track for your epic Hogwarts journey that you are about to embark on!
