We recently heard that Crash Team Rumble is the latest game in the Crash Bandicoot series, but it is not a platformer! Instead, we have a multiplayer game where teams of four must fight to see who can get the most Wumpa Fruit! Each battle will see players have to work as a team as they use each of the five announced characters’ special abilities to give their team the best chance of victory!
There are two versions of Crash Team Rumble that you can buy, but what is the right edition of the game for you?
When Is It Out And What Is It On?
The official release date for Crash Team Rumble is June 20th and it is being published by Activision and developed by Toys For Bob. The game is going to be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. As of writing no PC or Nintendo Switch version has officially been announced by Activision although some people are saying it is coming to PC. Cross platform play has already been confirmed so that is pretty cool.
Is There A Pre-Order Bonus?
Kind of is the answer to this. You see, if you pre-order the game before April 20th, you will get access to the closed beta for Crash Team Rumble which is scheduled for April 20th until April 24th. If you are interested in the game and know for sure you are going to get it, you may as well make sure you pre-order before April 20th so you can check out the closed beta.
Crash Team Rumble Standard Edition
PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One
The Crash Team Rumble Standard Edition is the base version of the game and will cost you $29,99/£24,99. So far no physical version of the game has been revealed so it is looking like this may be a digital only release at first. With the Standard Edition, you get the following goodies,
Crash Team Rumble Digital Game
Season One Premium Battle Pass
Retro Threads Thawna Skin
Access To The Closed Beta Starting April 20th
Crash Team Rumble Deluxe Edition
PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One
If you fancy going a little deeper with Crash Team Rumble, you may want to consider spending the extra bit of money to get the Crash Team Rumble Deluxe Edition. This is priced at $39,99/£34,99. You get what you get with the standard edition, but there are some interesting bonuses here.
Crash Team Rumble Digital Game
Season One Premium Battle Pass
25 Season One Battle Pass Tiers Unlocked
Retro Threads Thawna Skin
Access To The Closed Beta Starting April 20th
Season Two Premium Battle Pass
Digital Proto Pack
What Edition of Crash Team Rumble Should I Buy?
This is one case where we feel you are better off spending the extra five bucks to get the Crash Team Rumble Deluxe Edition. We know that this is going to be a game that has a battle pass and with the Deluxe Edition, you are getting the season two battle pass, not to mention being able to skip 25 tiers of the season one battle pass. That to us is well worth those extra few bucks!
