Capcom shocked a lot of people back in the summer of 2022 when they announced that Dragon’s Dogma II was in the works. It went quiet for a little while, but we now know that Dragon’s Dogma II will be released in 2024. There are a couple of versions of the game available for pre-order and we are looking at them both to help you decide what edition of Dragon’s Dogma II you should buy.
When Is It Out & What Is It On?
Dragon’s Dogma II is current gen only. This means that the game will only be on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. As of writing the scheduled release date for the game is March 22nd, 2024.
Is There A Pre-Order Bonus?
Those who pre-order Dragon’s Dogma II before the March 22nd release date will get the Dragon’s Dogma II: Superior Weapons Quartet. This is a collection of four awesome weapons that will give you an edge during the early portion of the game.
Dragon’s Dogma II Standard Edition
The Dragon’s Dogma II Standard Edition is available digitally on all three formats and physically for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. You get the base game here as well as the Dragon’s Dogma II: Superior Weapon Quartet if you pre-order the game. This is a full priced $69,99/£61,99 game. Be sure to shop around if you want the game physically as some retailers will be offering it for a little bit less.
Dragon’s Dogma II Deluxe Edition
The other version that is currently available for pre-order is the Dragon’s Dogma II Deluxe Edition. This is digital only and is available for all three formats. This is currently listed at $79,99/£69,99. You of course get the base game, but you get some other cool digital content here. You get a whole bunch of in-game items, a camping kit, a bunch of Rift Crystals, and more.
The Dragon’s Dogma II Deluxe Edition comes with the following items,
Base Game
Explorer’s Camping Kit
1,500 Rift Crystals
Items (Makeshift Gaol Key, Art of Metamorphosis, Wakestone, Heartfelt Pendant, Harpysnare Smoke Beacons, Ambivalent Rift Incense)
Digital Music & Sound Collection
That is some pretty handy in-game loot that will greatly help you on your adventure. However, if you pre-order the Dragon’s Dogma II Deluxe Edition as well as the Dragon’s Dogma II: Superior Weapon Quartet, you will also get the Ring of Assurance as a pre-order bonus!
What Edition of Dragon’s Dogma II Should I Buy?
If you want the game physically then you have to go for the Dragon’s Dogma II Standard Edition. However, if you want to get a bit of an edge when you start playing the game, all that extra stuff in the Dragon’s Dogma II Deluxe Edition is going to come in really handy. It is also worth noting that Capcom are not one to shy away from epic collector’s editions. Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Monster Hunter and more have all seen collector’s editions released. With them seeing Dragon’s Dogma II as a big release, we would not be shocked if some kind of collector’s edition was announced before the game is released.
