Dragon Ball fans are in for a treat on October 11th when DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is released. This takes the exciting and popular gameplay from the Budokai Tenkaichi series with some of the most epic 3D fighting action that the Dragon Ball series has ever seen. DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Is going to be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and there are a few different editions for you to consider.
Is There A Pre-Order Bonus?
Those who pre-order the game before the October 11th release date will get the 6 characters early unlock pack which gives instant access to characters that you would normally have to unlock. There is also a mystery playable character too as part of the pre-order bonus! You also get a sticker sheet as well which is a neat little collectible for those getting the physical edition of the game.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Standard Edition
Those who just want to jump in and start dishing out Kamehameha’s right away without caring about any extra content may want to consider the DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Standard Edition. This is a full-price game with an RRP of $69,99/£69,99. This is available digitally on all three platforms as well as physically on PlayStation and Xbox where you may find it cheaper than the RRP.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Digital Deluxe Edition
Next up we have the DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Digital Deluxe Edition. One of the things that caused a bit of controversy is that DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Will have a Season Pass that goes live on day one! With this edition, you get that Season Pass which will give you access to over $20 new characters throughout the season. In addition to this, you also get to play the game three days early too. This has an RRP of $99,99/£94,99.

If you are a big Dragon Ball fan and know for sure you will want to play as whomever the characters that are part of the Season Pass are, this version does make a lot of sense for you to consider.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Ultimate Edition
The DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Ultimate Edition is digital only and comes with the Season Pass like the Digital Deluxe Edition does, but you also get a few extras. These are The Ultimate Upgrade Pack which has a Goku Super Costume with Pole, an emote voice set, 2 player card backgrounds and 1 customization item. You also get the Ultimate Edition Bonus which is to Summon Super Shenron. As this comes with a few more items, it does have a higher RRP which is $109,99/£104,99.

At the end of the day, it is up to you to decide how cool the content in the Ultimate Upgrade Pack and the Ultimate Edition Bonus is and if you feel it is worth the extra $10/£10.

The Dragon Ball video game series has had some epic collector’s editions over the years and the DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Premium Collector Edition is staying true to that. You get all of the stuff you get with the Ultimate Edition, but this is a physical edition aimed at collectors and you get some amazing physical goodies here for your $229,99/£169,99. There is an awesome looking diorama with Goku and Broly going at it. You get a metal bookmark and some very cool looking art cards too as well as a steelbook case.

While the asking price is certainly high and may have you looking for the seven Dragon Balls so you can ask Shenron to hook you up! However, as far as collector’s editions go, we feel that the DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Premium Collector Edition is not out of line with its pricing at all considering the fantastic physical collectibles you get. Plus, you do have to remember that the Season Pass is included in this package so when you factor that in, it makes the price of those physical collectibles seem even better!
What Edition of DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Should I Buy?
This is a tricky one as Dragon Ball has such a die hard fan base! If you are just a casual fan and are not sure you will be sticking with the game for a full year, but you still want to play it, the DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Standard Edition is probably the way to go. However, if you are a huge fan and know you will want access to the many new characters that will be added to the game as the year goes on, you will want to get one of the editions that comes with the Season Pass. Of course, if you are a mega fan and you can afford it, we must admit that DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Premium Collector Edition is something very special and in the UK, retailer GAME already has it listed as being out of stock so you do not want to sleep on this too long if you are tempted!
