What edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 should I buy?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 had been rumored for a while, there had been rumblings of a Call of Duty game set in the 90s and now we know for a fact that is when Black Ops 6 will be set. Releasing on October 25th, 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the most exciting looking Call of Duty games in quite some time.

As you would expect, there are different editions available and today we are helping you answer the question of, what edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Should I Buy?

Is There A Pre-Order Bonus?

Those who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will get access to early access to the open beta which as we write this does not have a date. Also, in the UK, retailer GAME are also offering an exclusive steelbook case for those who pre-order. We are sure this will be available in the USA, but as of writing, no retailer has been confirmed.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Standard Edition/Cross-Gen Edition

Available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC is the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Standard/Cross-Gen Edition. This is a strange one as these are both priced the same with an RRP of $69,99/£69,99 for the digital versions of the games. However, if you are buying this physically, shop around as you may get it cheaper, for example in the UK as of writing, Amazon has it listed for £57,95 on both PlayStation and Xbox which is one heck of a saving. With this, you get the base version of the game and on the PlayStation Store, it also says that you will get access to the Woods Operator Pack.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Game Pass Edition

It is kind of crazy to think that Game Pass players on Xbox are going to be able to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Game Pass on day one! If you have an active Game Pass subscription on October 25th, you will be able to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 at no extra price!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition

With an RRP of $99,99/£99,99, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition is available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. This is the “big” edition for the Call of Duty mega fans that go all in with each release. This is digital only, but with this, you get a bunch of cool stuff such as BlackCell which is what the first season of the game is called, this alone makes The Vault Edition worth it if you are someone who needs access to all of the maps as they are released.

For big Call of Duty fans who love when new maps are released, getting the Vault Edition does make a lot of sense.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition Upgrade

What if you want to buy a physical copy of Black Ops 6 or if you are just playing the game on Game Pass, but you want access to the stuff that comes with the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition? Do not worry as for $30/£30 you can get the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition Upgrade which gives you all of the Vault Edition content. Please note that as of writing, only PC and Xbox have the Vault Edition Upgrade listed, but we would be shocked if this was not also available to PlayStation players.

What Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Should I Buy?

If you are a casual Call of Duty player who likes to play each new release, beat the campaign, play a little multiplayer, and get bloody in zombies, you are probably best getting the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Standard or Cross-Gen edition. However, if you are someone who usually plays the new Call of Duty for the full year until the next one is out, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition thanks to the new maps it will offer with the season 1 pass is the way to go.
