2021 is shaping up to be a huge year for RPGs and it just got even bigger thanks to Aquaplus revealing the official release date for the hotly anticipated action RPG, Utawarerumono: ZAN 2. The release date is July 22nd, but so far this is for Japan so us in the West may have to wait a tad longer for the game to be localized.
The game is coming to both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 4. No word yet on if this is a PS4 game that has a PS5 upgrade or if they are going to be available as separate games for each console.
This is going to be based on the very popular and interesting Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.
However, Aquaplus has shown that this new game is going to feature a much more in-depth storyline and a new battle system which looks like it is going to be a lot of fun to dive into as well. Aquaplus did not dive into any major details, but there is a very good reason for that.
The next issue of Famitsu (due on the 1st of April) is going to have a special interview with the developer. There is going to be an in-depth article that is going to look at the story, the characters, and the gameplay that is going to be on offer. It looks very exciting and no doubt, action RPG fans are going to be very interested to see what is revealed in this exclusive article!
