What edition of SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS should I buy?

2024 is the year of Shadow the Hedgehog and he will be roundhouse kicking his way onto consoles and PC with SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS on October 25^th, 2024. With Shadow being a major part of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie and him being put into what is already an awesome Sonic game in, Sonic Generations. 2024 is looking like an epic year for Shadow fans. SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS will be available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. 

Is There A Pre-Order Bonus?

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS does have a pre-order bonus, it actually has two! No matter if you get a physical or digital edition of the game, if you pre-order you will get a Legacy Skin for Modern Sonic. However, if you purchase a physical copy of the game you will get Gerald Robotnik’s Journal which is really cool. We would assume, this will be included in the box with the first releases of the game.

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Standard Edition

One thing that is cool about the SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Standard Edition is that this is not a full-price game, it has an RRP of $49,99/£44,99. With this you get the base game along with the pre-order content if you purchase the game before October 25^th. Interestingly, PlayStation players get an exclusive perk in “Exclusive Prologue Animations”. This is available physically and digitally, but if you want that awesome Gerald Robotnik’s Journal, you will have to get a physical copy of the game. 

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Digital Deluxe Edition

The other version is the SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Digital Deluxe Edition. With an RRP of $59,99/£54,99, you get some pretty neat stuff with this. You get to play the game three days early, a digital artbook and soundtrack, and even an exclusive level for Shadow the Hedgehog which is sure to be a huge selling point for this version of the game.

That extra Shadow level and skin is pretty cool as is the Terios skin which big Sonic fans are sure to get a kick out of. To be fair, for an extra five or so bucks, you get a lot of bang for your buck here. 

What Edition of SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Should I Buy?

We feel that the asking price for the SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Standard Edition is fantastic, especially when you consider if you get the physical edition of the game, you get that cool little book as a collectible. If you are a physical game collector the Standard Edition is your only choice. However, if you are not bothered about having a physical copy of the game, the SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Digital Deluxe Edition for just a little bit extra money is giving you a lot of cool stuff, having an extra level as well as the fun stuff like a digital artbook and soundtrack makes the Digital Deluxe Edition very tempting!
